Only
a light watercolor layer is needed. I use a lot of water because it creates
very neat mixes of the different colors. Sometimes I use salt for different
effects, it absorbs the paint and gives it a cool pattern. I try to mix colors
and use opposites for a dynamic look, or just soft colors that complement each
other. It all has to do with the faerie's character. Colors can tell a lot about
a character or a mood of a painting.
